NC30 clock change and no start.

Post by xivlia »

Okay, so Thunderace send me the wiring instructions for my aftermarket digital dash. i connected it all up. and the bike wont start. im not sure if clocks play a part in making the bike work or not.... ive got all the wiring done, everything is set up on the clocks. however, i did not need to use any of the wires in the white plug that is on the bike loom.. what is that white plug for?

Logic says that if there is a plug...it should be connected somewhere.

A photo of the "white plug" you are refering to and its location would help ......

Can't you look at the wires coming from the plug and work out which one it is from the wiring diagram? It does show a green and yellow wire on a bullet connector that goes back the ignition from the tach, though.

Bit more elaboration. Does the ignition come on? Does the bike crank, have you checked for spark? (I said you had a shitty wiring issue before, so this could be conicindence in that youve distubred the fault, but your clocks are fine)

Its too much of a pain to go find the white plug on my bike but its not the igntiion switch is it?

Perhaps its the speed restrictor circuit from the old Japanese clocks? If so then it will have 3 wires in it and will be left over.

Okay here is the picture of the white unconnected plug. and i noticed the bikes kill switch was on, i turned it off and i thought it would start but it never, checked for spark and no spark, the bike does crank.. it just has no spark to make it fire. and yes Neo, it is probably that shitty wiring... but i cant seem to find any faults, i traced all the wires in the plugs and all seem secure and safe.. unless there is a shitty wiring somewhere in the middle of a wire..... im also recharging my battery.... maybe my battery is toast? maybe a a couple of cells has gone? i was told the battery would still get full capacity voltage even with a few dead cells.
