Finally I'm ready to start putting the old girl back together after weeks of powdercoating and plating.
Not sure of the method to install the swingarm. Can someone run me through it and give me a torque setting for the locknut and end bolt?
While we are on the subject of torque settings, I've had a look through the site and can't seem to get a definitive quide for anything on a 76a. Do any of you have a list or something from the jap manual? Anything at this point would be appreciated otherwise I fear a long and stressful rebuild ahead wondering if things are done up tight enough or, whether I'm gonna strip threads!

These are some of the torque settings I have for the 76a I got them from variablevalves and stripes I think they may have a jap manual.
Swing arm 85-115nm
Top yoke nut 50-80nm
Head bearings40-50nm
Rear wheel spindle 85-115nm
Front wheel spindle 50-80nm
Front spindle pinch bolts 20-31nm

Really stuck on this swing arm! How far does the externally threaded castle nut need to screwed in? Does it just need to take up play before tightening up the locknut or does it need to be torqued?

Do you have a Haynes manual?? What does it say? IIRC if there is a torque for the threaded spacer against the bearings, but it will be very small.

I'll have a look at my manuals tonight when I get home from work and see if I can find anything.

The only manuals available for a GK76 are rare, expensive and printed in Japanese. These things are an absolute nightmare to own. Information from anybody is scarce probably because everyone's scared to take anything apart, because they don't have any information on how to put it back together
I'm going off to sulk and work on the NC30's. At least I can drool over the Haynes manual and the lengthy list of torque settings

If it is the type with a castle nut and central hex you can use rgv250 manual figures.

Cheers for the link. That's without doubt the most useful information I've come across. The vast majority of it seems like it translates across to the GSX'Rs. I can get cracking now, no excuses!
