+1

Yamaha unit is much better, even a used one will probably outlast a new shit honda one.

Don't buy a genuine one. Unless you want to buy another genuine one soon after! A replacement Honda fitment one will be OK as long as you don't buy one that's silly cheap. The Yamaha one is by all accounts better than a decent aftermarket replacement Honda fit, however I'm pretty sure it means you need to replace the connector on the wiring loom which is easy enough if you don't might a bit of crimping and soldering. Quite honestly, if that hasn't happened yet on your bike, by now it would probably benefit from having the connector replaced as the wiring turns to rat shit over time and the individual connectors on the loom ship in road crap, and the wires start corroding. Often the actual failure turns out to be one of the wires corroding right through, so give the whole charging system a damned good inspection before simply buying an RR and wondering why the battery went flat again....

I replaced the one on my Fireblade with an Electrosport RR. No problems since. I also re-wired the cicruit from the generator to the RR so there is only one connector now instead of two. I don't know why Honda did that in the first place...
