In all the years i have been about here.. i have not heard/read that there is a way to test a NC29 CDI unit.. esp in the same way as the modern bikes plugged in to a computer.. as far as i know nothing is wrong with mine, but i am looking at a full engine transplant & i do know that its good practice to also use the CDI from the new lump than use the original one.
anyone ever heard of plugging in a NC29 CDI to a computer to check it?

Lol - and why is that ? a CDI is a CDI it either works or doesn't so why would you want to change it unless its for one with a different map

You can test the CDI unit with a multimeter. The genuine Honda workshop manuals should give you the required resistance readings :peace:
