nc30 differences between a half-system and a full-system?

Hello, what are the differences between full system exhausts and half system exhausts. i have a TSR system, was told it was half system, but the whole down pipes looks different than stock system. doesnt that make it a full system? :?: thanks.

Its all down to thw rear manifold, if it sports the restrictive twisty honda rear header then its a half system.

The front pipes on a stock nc30 wernt restrictive it was the rear that held it back.

Dont think TSR made any full systems, i think from your old thread you had some trouble with the rear stubby manifold bolts snapping so it definatly isnt a full system if you have the original rear manifold. Also the front downpipes would likely be sprung onto the rear TSR section like this:

If you have any photo's of it that would help, oh and if you have room to fit a rad fan its likely you have standard pipes.

here is a photo, and yes the rear twisty manifold is there so it is a half system then. whats so restrictive about that manifold? there isnt any cats in there or any sort of honeycomb cross sections.

and i do have room for a rad fan, i have one and it doesnt hit my pipes.

Yea looks like standard front pipes, i think the main restriction in the rear manifold is the diameter of the actual pipes. Not sure how much it affects performance but hopefully ill get a chance to find out come springtime!

so mine isnt even a half system? its just a carbon kevlar can with a tsr link pipe to the original pipes?

Nah its definatly a half system, original rear pipes will all be welded together rather than spring mounted.

Half system = the rear pipes changed - keeping Honda front pipes and stubby
3/4 system = front pipes and rear pipes - keeping Honda stubby
full system = front pipes, rear pipes and no stubby. The entire Honda system, removed.

I'm interested too know why the rear manifold is regarded as being so restrictive?

When I refitted the stock system all the pipes are the same diameter, the only restriction that I could see were the welds - 1 of on each front pipe & essentially 3 welds for each rear pipe. Is this the restriction that you mention?

I ground all the welds off anyway gaining +/- 3mm. Dunno if it makes any difference - anyone done before & after trial?
