Well, it's a third before they're shipped. £35 plus £15 shipping is £50+ VAT when they arrive from China and get to customs = £60. Plus gawd knows how long to wait, and you don't know for sure that they're not crap. Having said that, their rads seem to be very popular and no horror stories yet, so there's no reason to think the hoses will be any different. You can get Roose hose kits for £76, although they are five hoses, not six. Samco do seem to be getting very expensive these days. It was not very long ago they were about £80, and I've just looked on eBay and they seem to have gained another 10% or so very recently, they've now gone from a little over £90 to just under a ton! Clips up from £22 to £25. I guess Samco import their materials from a source that's sensitive to exchange rate or inflation?

Maybe one for a group buy?

I think there is an import threshold of £60 or so so shouldnt be hit with customs fees and VAt if only buying one set

VAT is charged on the cost of the goods, the shipping and the insurance, regardless of the total value. If the VAT-able total exceeds £135, then 3.7% import duty is applied. And, just to be total bastards, they apply the duty, then apply VAT to ALL the charges, so you get taxed on your tax bill (since when was import duty a 'luxury item'..??) ! However, on motorcycle parts from China, the duty is waived if it doesn't exceed £9, so unless you hit approx £243, there'll be no duty.

Of course, if Mr Chinese seller chooses to fib about the contents and the value, you may escape the above. I was once shipped US$150 worth of model cars from the US, and the seller put them down as $25 toys as a gift, so I didn't get even get charged VAT. Of course, this can get them into serious trouble if they are caught!
