6pot calipers

anyone no or have fitted 6pot callipers to the 400 or no if it a strait fit??

or if 4pot off a 96 on gsxr fit??

goin take a closer look sunday, just had a idea

This is something I'm thinkin about doing down the line. Provided the 6pot calipers you buy fit the mount holes on your forks your ok. You will have to consider disc size as well.

6 pots have been fitted before but people say they feel wooden compared to the stock caliper.
Im sure some of the 600 4 pots share the same pad as the 400 so simplest to just run a good set of 400 pads.

Good point that, 6pots are massively over kill on such a light bike.

I got both my front calipers off the other day, gave them a right good clean with ma sisters toothbrush
They were a disgrace the previous owner had made a crap effort at painting them with a rattle can while they were still assembled. Were working on 1 pot each shite!!!

Took a good 20mins each but are fully working and shit hot now! Going to top brake fluid up and bleed them on weekend they will be perfection then.

The back one is next this weekend haha!

the 6 pots you can fit are the same ones that loads of people get rid of from SRADs, ZX7rs and so on as they are shit.

They needs servicing all the time and are not actually any bettter at all.

IMO...not worth the ballache.

A freshly built set of calipers with new discs and pads will be good enough. Im running EBC pro light discs and SBS pads and i cant fault that set up.

Never had a prob with the old brakes they had HH pads EBC disc's no prob.
But i felt they could be a little sharper my self.

Have fitted the 6pots and they fit strait on no problem.

thay also have HH pads, wont no if they any better till March or April next year on the 1st track day but still got run the engine in.

Spare set wheels when painted are getting new Discs will see how it goes, it only a track bike so if ya got a road bike prob best not to upgrade the brakes just the Pads. All my bikes and every bike i have own soon as the pads need doing have fitted HH pads love em.

I use SBS pads and have done on all my bikes, Brilliant pads carnt fault them. A good service and fresh fluid and brakes are solid.

Also make sure that your front suspension is working correctly as it really affects braking power
