Okay so i just managed to snipe this item in the last second with my android app and was wondering what make this is? i havent seen this before, and it doesnt look like the cheap Chinese ones. Any ideas?

Gawd knows, but it looks pretty marked up on what little friction surface the thing has! I hope it works better than it looks.....

Looks like a well used disc that was blatantly designed with weight saving in mind, not stopping power.

That looks pretty fcuked to me. It also looks as though it's got quite warm at some point, you may want to check it's straight before you fit it.

yeah il get a closer look at it when it arrives, i just didnt want to spend 30 on chinese stuff and i wanted a wavy disc purely on its looks. 17 isnt too much anyway, if its crap. then i will need to buy some other one. il check its thickness etc. it says its got plenty meat left... im guessing atleast 6+mm and il check if its straight.

Tap it with something metal whilst you suspend it with string, it should have a nice ring, if not it could be cracked etc

And to check if it's straight, go outside and throw the disc along the floor, so it spins on its side, then lay down in a half suspended press up position directly behind the disc and see if it's wobbling from side to side at all. Acceptable tolerances is circa 2feet.

Ersan, I would be very wary about buying second hand brake discs at all and certainly of E-bay where someone will always quote "plenty of meat left" but never actually quotes the thinkness of the discs (or even probobly knows the limts of wear).

Hand on heart I hope you have picked up a bargin and it turns out to just need a clean up and still has, as they say, "plenty of meat on it". But I susspect you will be disapointed and in that case fitting it will be pointless as, if it looks a s bad in real life as it does in the pics, it would get picked up as a 'Fail' at any re-run at the MOT.

I know it it a bit late now as you have already bought it, but rather than taking a chance for just over 20 quid, and a good chance you will have to bin it anyway and start again.....why not just buy a 'New' rear disc from a highly reliable source for just a little more and know 100% that it is good, staright and quality?
