NC30 Values.
That "new" VFR400RM recently sold at auction, went for £18,060 plus 15% fees, not the £25,000 I first heard.
I now see a UK RL on e bay starting at £10,000, it looks pretty good as far as I can see from the small pictures, but these prices do seem a bit steep to me.

Re: NC30 Values.
Good point Dave not considered that one on ebay for 10k however further down in his list it says 10,0000 so either a sticky 0 or hes wanting £100k? No uk spec bike is worth £10k let alone the £18k auction.

Hmmm, maybe not to you or I but the fact is that someone DID pay 18k (+15%).porndoguk wrote:Good point Dave not considered that one on ebay for 10k however further down in his list it says 10,0000 so either a sticky 0 or hes wanting £100k? No uk spec bike is worth £10k let alone the £18k auction.
As we all know anything is only worth what someone is prepared to pay & if someone is willing to pay 18 or even 10k for a genuing, low miles nc30 then surely that is what the bike is worth to them.
It's a crazy world I tell thee :)

Re: NC30 Values.
However, didn't they pay their £18K plus fees for a bike with delivery miles on it, rather than 6000?

Re: NC30 Values.
People are stupid.
People with too much money are also stupid.
Occasionally you will get two people with lots of money who must have something so outbid each other and get caught up in the moment. Perhaps there are no more 0 miles NC30s about, maybe there are..
However, due to the internet and everything being everywhere, Joe Bloggs suddenly starts to think his shitter NC30 is worth 3000 instead of 500 quid so he puts it on eBay with an over-inflated price.
Trouble is, his friend who is also selling his NC30 on eBay sees the price Joe Bloggs has his up for and raises his own.
Throw in a couple of optimistic dealers and very soon all the prices are way more than they should be.
I used to point out to dealers that the 2nd hand junk they have up for auction is actually cheaper new from Honda but I gave up a while ago.
The market for these bikes has been ruined for a while, they are overpriced now way before their time.

Re: NC30 Values.
clearly its bollocks and frankly anyone that thinks these prices are going to be "the norm" is in for a rude awakening.
I suspect some inside dealing with dealers to inflate interest in bikes that some suspect dealers may or may not have in stock that keep appearing to be "sold" only to surface at another dealer (or the same one) for even more money.
there will always be a couple of easily led fools to try their hand in this too and cash in looking for an idiot without a village.
Sure i have no doubt good original NC's in the strong colours are going to be highly prized and in demand, but 4 - 5k tops over the next year or two IMO

Re: NC30 Values.
Trouble is, what do you do if yours gets written off? The insurers usually value stuff poorly anyway, and if everyone is adding 50-100% to the real value "'cos it's a classic, mate!!", how is anyone going to replace it other than forking out the extra, or buying theirs back and fixing it up whenever they can find decent bits?

Agreed
there's a lot of breakers now using the getting rare classic etc listing rock hard carb rubbers knackered old shocks and furry old radiators at outrageous prices these days .

Re: NC30 Values.
Just had a look at the completed listings on ebay and it seems that most of these ridiculously priced bikes arent selling, however a few of the tatty ones up for auction rather than buy it now have made more than what alot of us would say they are worth. Just goes to show that prices of the shitters seem to be rising slightly.

Re: NC30 Values.
I found a 'lovely' top rad the other day from an NC30. Looked like it had lived at the bottom of a pond for about a decade. Would have been a bargain at £120! lol
