What do you guys use to clean and shine body panels? Do you use wax?

Also, what do you guys use to polish metal parts and restore/protect and shine rubber hoses?

Not sure if you get these products over there but I use Mer (polish/protects) on the panels/tank, Autosol on the alloy parts and WD40 on wheels, forks, engine etc...
As for the rubber hoses, you cant see them so much so I dont bother, just a wipe with a rag with a shot of WD40 whenever the panels are off.

Mr Sheen polish (in a spray can) works well....smells nice too!

Thanks for the replies. We have Autosol and WD40 here but not sure about MER. Any other substitute for Mer? TIA

Or any other furniture polisher will do, I hear bees-wax is good at keeping the dirt off, so that's what I use!
WD40 & Autosol also get the from me.

I use mcguirers nxt metal polish on all alloy,rub on polish off leaves a protective coating as well.Best I have ever used.Comes in a small dark blue tub.Bought mine from a local motor factor.

I use wd-40 on everything but the plastics then rinse and hit it all again with simple green. I wash the panels with car soap and dry. Then I hit all the plastics with pledge and even have the wipes for the hard to get areas.

This sounds like the way to go. Thanks vifferman! Maybe i'll try something other than pledge tho, maybe some car care product.

I used to use a plastic cleaner from Honda, but I found the pledge works well and the bike smells lemony fresh too!

I do like the sound of lemony fresh! :)
