Valve Clearances...

Most probably a dum question but just need to check something.

On the rear cyclinders the inlet valves are towards the front of the cyclinder and the exhaust valves are at the back. Is this the same for the front cyclinder or are the positions reversed?

I only ask because the front cyclinder valve clearances seem to be opposite to what the should be!

All measurements in mm

Front-2

Inlet = 0.2 + 0.2
Exhaust = 0.1 + 0.08
Haven't measured the shims yet..

Front-4

Inlet = 0.2 + 0.2
Shim = 2.38 + 2.34

Exhaust = 0.09 + 0.08
Shim = 2.44 + 2.41

Rear-1

Inlet = 0.08 + 0.10
Shim = 2.35 + 2.29

Exhaust = 0.22 + 0.26
Shim = 2.15 + 2.18

Rear-3

Inlet = 0.1 + 0.09
Shims = 2.31 + 2.34

Exhaust = 0.23 + 0.22
Shims = 2.14 + 2.21

Thanks all.

The exhaust valves are closest to the exhaust pipes and the inlet valves are closest to the carbs...

when measuring make sure its between the rocker arm and the shim itself
as neo said exhaust near the exhaust

most of the inlets look a bit tight.. I have had a hard day at work..but after some beer I will look for my excel sheet that will figure this out..lol
