Ducati Rear Wheel on a NC30?

i did use the search to try see if there was anything on this but it didnt come up with anything so apologies if this has been discussed many times before.
i was just scrolling through ebay for nc30 bits n bobs as you do, and stumbled across this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0802281000
now this is set up for a totally different bike but... the seller says that the wheel is machined to bolt onto a nc30 hub
assuming its not to hard to do it would be a much cheaper alternative to trying to get hold of a rvf wheel to bring the rear tyre down to a 17"??
it is a 5.5" rim if memory serves me correct, so would that create clearance issues on a nc30?

I'm sure I've seen a bike on here with this mod done, had a Ducati front end too.
Someone will know

Yes I've done it
It's lots of work - there are a few others who have asked about it and are in the process of doing their own conversions.
The wheel fits with a spacer 4.5mm thick - this allows the wheel clearance from the disc bolts and from the tyre on the chain. The centre bolt just fits with a machined down Ducati wheel spacer. I can email some pics or a more detailed write up if anyone wants it!
The advantages are a 17"rear wheel that looks cool - it was a 5" wide wheel and not the 5.5" wheel as this probably would have caused more clearance issues. If you splash out on light weight wheels it's worth it but the std Ducati wheel is pretty heavy!
My bike had this mod done to the rear along with an underseat exhaust system, 996 seat unit, mito lights and a zxr400USD front end , all sprayed up in a foggy rep infostrada colour scheme.

With a spacer wouldn't that put the wheel off centre?
Also, yes please, do a more detailed write up with pictures

Yes i belive the wheel did run off centre, much easier to use low head bolts and use the nut on the disc side of the axle instead of the wheel side.

Thats what I did with my mag wheels DM.
Thought the Duke wheel might have an offset on the mounting face

That i dont know, from what ive been told and seen of them they should run centre if using low head bolts. Pretty sure you have to bore the centre out a bit too.

Is that ducati wheel not from a bike belonging to a lad on here a while back from cheltenham cannot remember his name but remember the bike as a tyga kitted bike with a ducati front end which he broke and sold parts on here. He also did fitting kits for ducati front forks he would know.

You are thinking of Riley - he made the Ducati front end fitting kits but had a vfr750 rear wheel and did a good job with the mito seat unit conversion too :)
