I'm just pulling my carbs & checking my notes with the Haynes, can someone confirm exactly what the standard factory settings are for the uk carbs

Supplied with the bike, I have;
2 x 122, 2 x 120 mains
2 J1G A, 2 J1G B needles

ready to fit, which way do the emulsion tubes go - same as jap spec, the reason I ask is, on the UK carbs it appears that the larger (122) jet is fitted to the front carbs while jap spec carbs have the larger jets to the rear bank, you can't tell which emulsion tube goes where from Lings/CMSNL fiches......

Definitive answers for main jets, needles & tubes only please!

That's what I first thought (from Cammos guide but both Haynes and the Honda fiches show 122 being in the front, 120 in the rear!
I now have no idea where where the needles & emulsion tubes go to be correct

I want to KNOW that I get this right, there does seem to be some conflicting information.....

Also, I think it's more holes in the rear carbs as far as the emulsion tubes go.

Yeah, that tallys with the info I have.
My carbs have 4 hole tubes in the front, so I'm assuming that's correct.

Any idea on the needles, is it the same as jap bikes where the "A" needles go in the rear & "B" in the front?
What about shims/washers under the needles, couldn't see any on the uk model fiches.....

Sorry, you'll have to refer to the jetting thread, I know nothing about NC30 needles or washers, other than I'm pretty sure standard carbs use 0.5mm and some people fatten the mixture up by adding another 0.5mm.

It might just be the case that the needle comes with a shim as standard and it's omitted from the diagram for clarity, although to be fair the 35 has shims as standard which come with the needles and they are shown on the diagram. Cammo is probably the authority when it comes to this stuff, drop him a line.. :-)

The rears have 5 hole tubes, so they'll stay in place.

No disrespect to the man himself but it was from the jetting guide that I found the Wrong info about the main jet locations.
Hoping to get it spot on 1st time (having said that it did run well with the Tyga & DynoJet kit).

Well, in that case everyone out there is wrong, because I can't remember the last time I saw a post stating running fatter jets in the front on this forum, or elsewhere in internetland.

Also, Rick Oliver, engine tuning guru has an NC30 enigne mod guide, and that also says fatter rear jets.

I reckon the parts guide has a cockup on it.

How do we find out what is correct.
