I have not started the bike for about 6 months have charged the battery but the engine will not turn over at all. The bike is on 2 stands as I am in the process of rebuilding. I wanted to give it a service so need to start and run the engine before I change the oil. I have changed the air filter the bike has started and run well before do you think I shoukld try carb cleaner and if so do I remove the tank and airfilter and spray into the intakes never done this before after any advice.

It won't turn over at all?

Let's start easy

Kill switch on RUN?
Main fuse intact?
Starter solenoid working?
Bike in neutral with clutch out when trying to start?
Clutch switch intact?
And whats the battery voltage? < could be a fuckered battery even if you have charged it.

I am getting about 12.7 volts from Battery. I have not got a fuel tank breather at the moment the cap was broken will that make a difference.

When you say won't turn over, do you mean the starter won't turn the engine, or the engine refuses to turn over under it's own power? If it's the latter, maybe your breather issue is preventing the tank from breathing correctly, and the fuel is being held in the tank? If so, what happens if you open the filler cap and then try to start it?
