rear brake photo wanted

Post by trude »

I have a problem with my rear disc on my NC35 not running centrally in my caliper bracket. It rubs up against the inside edge. It is almost as though there is a spacer missing somewhere in the assembly but everything seems to be there. Don't suppose someone could take a picture of their rear brake assembly from the back so I can see this part and what it is supposed to look like?

I suspect the caliper hangar (the aluminium bracket that the caliper bolts to) is bent, but it looks ok. The whole problem is a great mystery to me.

Cheers

My newly acquired '30 was like this. The caliper pistons were siezed & pads incorrectly fitted......
I'm sure a combination of these led to the alloy mounting bracket bending out of alignment.

I gently realigned the bracket until the caliper sat centrally & squarely to the disc. Then rebuilt the caliper with new pads. It should be ok but will keep an eye on it.
