Exhaust refurb advice

Hi folks.

Been neglecting my project bike #1 for way too long, but finally got a little bit of time on friday.
The exhaust system is pretty sound, just usual surface rust etc as expected (though have found one small hole that'll need welded).
I've wire brushed a lot of it off, but wanted to see how everyone else has tidied theres up.
Autosol / t-cut / compound / use a buff / lots of elbow grease - whats the best plan?
I intend to wrap some of it eventually, but still rather do a good job on it now.

Cheers
Vic

I'm doing mine at the minute. Bunged it up, and decoked it with sodium hydroxide. Some amount of shite came out of it, tons and tons of massive carbon flakes. Then it was into the industrial lab apparatus washer at work. Now its getting wet and dry, and autosol treatment. Might try and get it onto the polishing machines at work.

Sand paper, wire wheel on bench grinder, then 3 stage polishing mops, coarse, cut, buff

When I tidied mine up as part of a re-build, I used scotchbrite abrasive pad/discs with my drill to remove the vast majority of the rust/marks etc...

....and then just spent a bit of time with some Autosol. Pipes came up lovely. Picture below showing the difference between the pipes, taken after scotchbrite but BEFORE Autosol :o ...
