Hero bolt, hero peg?

Hi all,

I was wondering on the correct terminology before i start asking for a hero peg (thats what i used to call them).

In the manual just says bolt so i was wondering if folks would just use a cap headed nut on a threaded bar then find a sleeve to fit?

Minor part i know but im still aiming to build a bike as true to original as possible. Ill post up in the wanted section soon

You can buy them new or get some off a second hand set of pegs if you can find any cheap enough.

I take it you mean the bolt / sleeve that goes into the bottom of the footpegs that will scrape if your leaning over a bit.

They are often taken off as they can be unsettling when scraping, depending on your riding style, the pegs on the 30 are known to be quite low and scrape easily. But they are also useful to know how far over the bike is.

92501-08025-0A x 2 (this is the cap bolt) - 1.85 from David Silvers (in stock 3)
51486-MR8-000 x 2 (this is the sleeve) - 2.51 from David Silvers (special order 5 - 7 days)

So cost you about a tenner for all 4 parts (sleeve and bolt x 2).

Not the end of the world if you want all original parts.

From what I recall the OE "Hero Blob" is a 'domed headed bolt' which is fitted with a sleeve.
I might have a pair or 2 somewhere...
Let me know if you want them and I'll have a look see!

Thats the one, the bolt on the bottom of the footpeg. With my riding style i dont have to worry about scraping them - im too slow and the traffic gets in the way of heroic cornering speed.
Thank you very much for the part numbers and cost, saves me a lot of time which is a premium at the moment.

If you have a couple of hero blobs speedy let me know how much and ill have them.

You are both in luck!
I do have 1 pair + 1 extra bolt, all 3 have the sleeves too!
They're not shiny new, but neither are they totally rusted; a bit of polishing will make them look new if you want to!
Not sure what happened to the other bolt, but there ya go.

Let me know where to send them & I'll post them off asap.

No payment necessary, though you're welcome to send CRM a beer token or two which will probably be appreciated!
