NC35 fuel tank on 1993 NC30 frame?

Post by uswjmc22 »

Anyone know if this is a straight bolt on? i.e. are the mounting points front (slide in)
and back (bolt) identical? Thank you

I believe from looking at past threads and other forums that the answer is that you can run either tank on either bike, however due to the different shape, you may find issues with the screen brace. However, I have no idea if you can solve this by simply putting an NC35 screen brace on as well. It seems from pics of on NC30 top fairing on an NC35 that the former is quite a bit taller, however that's for someone else to answer.....

I can let you know next month when my NC35 tank gets here if its any help. I've seen pictures of NC30 tanks on 35's before.

Would you have any advice on sourcing an NC35 tank? Did you locate one on here or eBay?

I got mine off of yahoojp using From Japan Limited

First go here http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ type in rvf400 or NC35, (typing in tank usually won't work)

Scroll threw till you find a tank. They come up here and there. There's a couple on there now. You can still buy them new too for around $850. I had to hunt around for a while before I found a decent one with no dents for a sane price.

After you find one, you can ask Drew over at http://www.mori-man.com/portal/ to bid on it and ship it to you or you can use http://www.fromjapan.co.jp/

I've used both sources with no issues.
