What's wrong with it? If it's nothing major then one of us may be able to help (I live in Norwich too)
Otherwise, Rick Oliver lives just out of Norwich and he is the god of V4's.

not sure, I bought the bike a few months back, it hadn't been used for a few years before I got it, was running rough but it was running up until last week, had the sparks replaced as wasnt sure how old they were, it was running last week, started it today and it runs really rough, then revs its self, also when you give it some throttle it drops out and/or dies, not sure what to do with it

Strip the carbs out, clean all the jets and replace all the hoses and it will be sound.

Obviously this is based without seeing the bike and goign by what you have said being common symptoms.hil21ton wrote:not sure, I bought the bike a few months back, it hadn't been used for a few years before I got it, was running rough but it was running up until last week, had the sparks replaced as wasnt sure how old they were, it was running last week, started it today and it runs really rough, then revs its self, also when you give it some throttle it drops out and/or dies, not sure what to do with it
It sounds like you have airleak between your carbs and engine, your self revving and cutting out are classic symptoms.
New carbs rubbers, new vaccum hose check the vaccum take off screws are all blanked off should sort it out.
While you have the carbs off to change the rubbers you'd be crazy not to take the float bowls off, check they are all clean and the jetting is ok, many people mess this up. Cammo has an excellent step by step guide that is a sticky thread on overhauling the carbs.
This may sound daunting but it isn't that hard, but of course somebody on here can show you how to do it, help.
Work on 25 quid for a set of new carb rubbers, around 5 for some vaccum hose and that is it for parts. Just a couple of hours to strip the tank, get the airbox and carbs off and check / clean the carbs and replace the rubbers.
If it is unknown while they are off you can also check / set the valve clearances as this is quite important, but maybe best to tackle one thing at a time.
Rick-O is usually very busy but no doubt can help or point you in the right direction if you don't have any help yet as I see you already have PM.
Im sure it will be running like a good one soon.
