There is a lot of talk recently about Honda making a new road bike with a V4 engine, although what this will be is quite hotly debated.. new fireblade repplacement? all new bike, vfr type.

That just sounds like more rumours.

MCN printed something about Honda mentioning that they want to make a road going version of the RC213V GP bike but it wouldn't be the first time they are wrong.

The Desmo RR is limited only by its high cost, if you have the money you could buy one. If this bike does get made AND is a proper GP bike for the road like the desmo then the only limiting factor is going to be the size of your wallet.

Will be interesting to see what happens though, with the bike market being rubbish I dont think Honda would create a new model, somebody suggested replacing the fireblade with a V engined bike to improve sales by using the tradtional Honda V signature engine.

Of course the bike suited to the well off for trackdays Desmo RR style is another posibility.

Honda have said it's official though, and even had a press conference to confirm their intentions....

Err, no they didnt.

Honda were talking about their global strategy for the next couple of years at a Tokyo conference, the mentioning of the new bike was part of it, see the quote below.

Since its market introduction in 1987, the RC30 (VFR750R) super sports bike has been loved by a large number of fans. With a goal to create a new history, passionate Honda engineers have gotten together and have begun development of a new super sports bike to which new technologies from MotoGP machines will be applied

Since he makes reference to the RC30 (a high end bike) and motoGP most people are assuming a pricey V4 Road bike that will compete in WSB.

Nothing concrete has been confirmed by Honda yet though.

Some people seem to think Desmo esq 40,000gbp price tag, others have suggested it will be much cheaper / much more expensive.

It sure will be interesting whatever they make though.

A 1000cc V4 will be going ahead. Looking at a 2014 production date and costing damn near to £40,000. A huge price tag but hopefully the spec to match.

So where is the back up for this statement? There has been no official communication to that effect from Honda yet.

I'm well informed of what happens at Yamaha and the factory MotoGP team; I knew Rossi had signed for Yamaha 2013 before the official press release. I know the goings on at Tech 3 as well but that's all besides the point. You haven't answered the question. Where's your evidence? Without that, it's just hearsay.
