Just wondering, if the bike is running too rich, would it cause it to loose spark on the plugs? because if its running rich, more fuel is going in, thus making the electrode wet and in conclusion it would make the plug loose spark right? or am i totally wrong.

I wouldn't think so, unless your issue with the leaky floats has cropped up and you're flooding the cylinders with absolutely tons of fuel. Is this from cold or when hot? I can't think that an excessively rich mixture would put the spark out completely. I've been known to be wrong though!

hm well its fine when its cold. i start the bike up. with full choke, starts at one click no problems. it runs and runs, i start riding. and after about 10 minutes of riding, the bike only runs in two cylinders, and there is a lot of backfiring when this happens. 6 hours later after college. i start it up, again no problems. and after 10 minutes, it does the same thing. so well if its not that, then im assuming two of my plugs are dead and they are not functioning properly when the bke gets hot. this happend once before, but with all 4 plugs, seems like only two plugs are the problem this time though, to be honest i dont even know why my bike is rich... i followed the DIY carb jetting guide and increased my jets to 118/120 and raised the needle by .5mm and i did this waaay back when i got the bike, and it was never rich it worked better and throttle response was better, maybe its time for me to change my air filter probably not pushing enough air into the bike via the filter ive currently got, i think its in pretty bad shape anyway.

did you change your coils as explained ages ago - or was that another ignored suggestion ?

hm, i had tested my coils, but they were all within in spec. il have to see which ones fail first though. and then il swap them about and see if it makes a difference. the thing is, would temperature of the engine affect the coils? i know it affects the plugs.

i do listen to advice, i just ask other questions within one question to clarify, YOU clearly dont understand, i want to make sure before i go out throwing money on coils if the temperature does or doesnt affect it... now that i know it does, since YOU told me, then i can start testing it furthermore. you cant expect me to just take the word and buy a new coil, without making sure 100%

it was running perfectly fine but a piece of 20 year old junk do tend to have its problems. im guessing the plugs are buggered gonna swap the plugs around, and then gonna swap the coils around.
