Post by corpie »

hi there,

i bought an 89 nc23 in august bike rode like a dream yesterday it just died while riding long push home... :( i was told it might be the battery so got a new one and checked regulator/rectifier and volts rose to 13.7 when revving

heres a list of new parts bought in july that i got from the guy i bought it off

air filter
new carbs for all cylinders
4 new spark plugs
oil filter and oil change
and a new gasket head cover
follow by a passed MOT

it starts like once every 3 hours and idles fine but then dies when pulling away

im super stumped driving me nuts :x

you checked to see if the fuel pump is all working correctly? You can short out the relay and should hear it buzz until the fuel pressure is up!

Sounds fuel related, If the pump is working OK, make sure the tank is venting OK. When it stops open the fuel cap and listen for a sudden inrush or air?
13.7v sounds low? Does the voltage increase from not running to running? and It should stay at ~14v no matter how high the revs are.
