Is the rear caliper retaining pin cover plug on the NC30 threaded or push in?
Mine won't budge?

Threaded, the same as on the fronts...

They're an absolute bugger to get out. I plaster them with copper grease every time I have them out, and they always stick fast. Had to use a screwdriver as a drift on one this time around, so I've got a couple of new ones as they're getting tatty. About three quid each, 45203-MG3-016. Front and rear use the same one.

+1 for copper greasing them every time. A whack via a big screwdriver and hammer can often help shock them into shifting before trying to turn.

The thread on the plug is ultra fine M10 x 1.0, so it is very sensitive to corrosion. Honda appears to have finally fixed that issue, because later bikes use a http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/part ... ber_10266/ instead of a steel plug. However, at UKP2 ea., they are rather dear...

These are worth a look. They are of a decent grade stainless so don't round out as easily, and as the slot for the screwdriver is narrower your tools are also less likely to slip. Keep it topped up on coppergrease and you're on to a winner.

Rubber plugs would work but it's hardly an engineering solution to the problem, is it?

Glad I'm not the only one having trouble with these. The one on the rear caliper of my Super4 was totally seized into place. Tried everything to get it out but it just wasn't budging. Ended up having to drill it out to get past it to the pin, but now I need to get the pin out, argh!
