Hello I work at Wrentham Bike Shed with me father, we need someone local (NR34 7TH) to let us plug in a suspect CDI and see if it fires up, or borrow yours just to see if our bandit will fire. We have eliminated as much as we can and its come down to black box ( a rare occasion this!) I'll do the fitting and only take 5 mins of your time, 20 quid for your trouble, regards!
Get back on here or moppus_moleus@hotmail.co.uk
If im not allowed to post my email I'll remove just let me know regards all

Cdi's are usually quite tough, if its the cdi the capacitors go and can be replaced.
Usual fault is pickup sender wires brake where they leave the L/H case, should read around 100 ohm at terminals, no 12v at coils or people swop cdi for wrong year as they are not interchangable, is original cdi?

Hello thankyou for your response, I have tested the pickup right up to the CDI and its 99 ohms, there is a drop in voltage to the coils 10.5v I believe our battery is getting a bit low but I would of expected a weak spark atleast, there is also 10.5v feed to the CDI. Coils have both been tested for resistances and are within range, also substituted a coil. We will try a better battery before condemning the CDI.

It is the original CDI, my old man said only time hes seen CDI go is when the bike has been severely overcharging, so we'll check that soon as it fires up, going to send the CDI off to a company (after decent battery test) who can test it as I don't think we'll find anyone local enough.
PS we've also bypassed the side stand switch, and the clutch switch stops it cranking, but cranks over fine.
Cheers!

If its an import check the green/yellow wire from the gear sensor is connected.
