FAO Graeme France, need help!! PROBLEM NOW SORTED :D

Hey i am having problems, i have fitted the wiring loom, light control, reg/rec and cdi, put the engine in everything is connected properly. i then connected the battery to test i had power and the neutral light was on with the keys out :S. switch the lights to dipped beam and the clock lights come on but no dipped beam then switched to main beam and the dash clocks go off and still no headlights.
Tried disconnecting everything and still the neutral light is on without anything plugged in at all even the fuse box unplugged, tried connecting the neutral light plug and it popped the main fuse :S.
Tried a different starter solinoid and wasnt getting anything at all but dont know if that stater is buggered.
Soon as i saw the neutral light on without keys in i quickly unplugged the ignitech cdi just in case anything tried to fry it.
I am now at a loss, i dont know if its something up with the wiring loom or something else, all earth points have good contacts. Really need some help.
If Graeme could advice me or if anyone else might know whats going on would be appreciated.
Thanks
Adam

Just quickly connected the old wiring loom and its doing the same problem so cant be the loom, one from GF is now back on and connected.
Soon as i touch the neutral wire from the engine to the neutral wire on the loom it pops the main fuse, still have neutral light on all the time with no keys in.
Dont know what else to do.

Update i have kind of solved it, i tried 2 different starter solinoids and one of them has solved the problem, no neutral light with ignition off all lights work when ignition on and horn works, hit the magic button and....................nothing not even a click from the solinoid.
I did as says in haynes to connect a wire from yellow/red to + on battery and one from green/red to - on battery and the solinoid works fine and turns the engine but no spark dont know if is this cause the solinoid not connected properly while testing or not.
So now i need to sort out the not turning over from the button problem and hopefully she will spark.
Any ideas?
Everything is connected again

The starter solenoid only works when its earth return is good ... this is supplied through an "or" gate ... either from the neutral switch OR the clutch in switch. CHECK both earth connections / switches and the lock out diode is plugged into the loom.
Likewise the CDI needs its earth connection to provide the coil trigger signals .....
Main earth connection is on the Reg Unit ... but if you have painted the sub frame it may not be earthing to the chassis - very very common mistake this.
Plenty of good used tested Indicator Relays @ £8 delivered.
BTW I've never had a LHS switchgear failure in 20 years ... just ensure the correct spec headlamp bulbs are fitted .... and I tend to clean out switchgear when I service a bike .... all good practice.
Hope that helps.

Cheers for that Graeme, i did mask up the mounting area for the reg/rec before spraying and sanded down the mounting points of the subframe to the frame after spraying. I will try the putting the earth point some were else.
Lock out diode is plugged in correct, will double check the earth returns.
I used the relay from the nc29 and works fine, so will be buying a relay from you in the near future when i get the nc29 back together.
Thanks again, will put on here if i get it sorted

Right gone through all the earth points and cleaned them all up and still the same, have power to lights try pressing the magic button and nothing, the solinoid is working as i connected it straight to battery as haynes manual stated and it clicks.
If the starter motor wasn't working would the solinoid click?
But saying that if i have the solinoid connected to the loom and then connect the solinoid straight to the battery as haynes manual says the engine turns over perfect so dont see it being the starter motor
Here is a video anyway of the problem

Just done a quick test and connected a wire going from yellow/red to black/brown on the starter switch and it turns over.
Think ill take the switch apart and have a look at it if not do i need a new one?

Had a check of the fuse box and wiggled the ignition fuse about and it started to turn over.
Cleaned the connections up and now turns over, but i still dont have a spark?
