Just curious to see how many of you do high miles, or just have a cherished summer Sunday toy that never sees rain, or somewhere in between. Hence how far, and not how long. Just me being silly as usual... :p

I passed my test in April 2003, and somehow persuaded the bank of mum and dad to lend me three grand to buy a reasonably tidy 1994 NC35 wearing a Rossi Nastro livery on what turned out to be a mix of mint and repaired factory panels. To be fair, the job was a very good one, and not something someone had knocked up in their garage. The only fault on the bike was that the throttle return cable had snapped, which was an easy fix.

Anyway, I digress as usual. I forget the exact figure, but my memory says there were approx 40500kms showing on the clock, and I duly set about using the bike as my daily transport, racking up worrying distances complete with all too close servicing requirements and regular new tyres. For a few years it seemed like I was having a service about every 9 months, which wasn't fun when every other one needed the valve clearances checking, and the first time I got stung for 11 shims!! In 2005, I started working in Bournemouth, so only see Sussex on odd weekends now, so it gets used a heck of a lot less. Which is good for the wallet, but in some ways a bit depressing too. Computer records don't go back beyond about 2006 for MOTs, and I may or may not find the paper MOT certs somewhere, but here's what I've managed to date. Testing was originally about May, but on a few years the new test has come after the old one expired, so it's slipped to near the end of July....

03 to 06 approx 47000 kms
06 to 07 10282 kms
07 to 08 5382 kms
08 to 09 4569 kms
09 to 10 2768 kms
10 to 11 2519 kms
11 to 12 approx 3000 kms

Current reading approx 16500kms (yup, it's been round the clock... ).

I can't remember how many miles mine has done... Mine is a NC30 89 RWB model and I've ridden to the Valencia and Assen GP's from my place in Cumbria.

Not a NC30 but a 400 atleast...

I had a GK76A SP that was my first big bike after passing my test and moving from the RS125, in 12months I did over 30k!!.. I would commute everyday then head out for long blasts after work regardless of weather, I rode to loads of BSB rounds that year and was doing 3 trackdays a month and having to ride to the track's..

The bike's carbs (rubber seals I now know  ) went to shit at a brands hatch evening session and back then with no world wide wank to help I couldnt get it sorted so the bike ended up sold to a mate for peanuts

My NC30 I purchased 3 years ago with 8000 klm and it now has 18000k as im a fair weather pussy these days and found after passing my car test that I just couldnt be asked with shit weather anymore plus I cycle almost everywhere these days...

My '99 NC35 is on 33,000 Kms, had it 6 years or so, only done 20,000 Kms in that time. I am commuting 30 miles/day on it at the moment though.

Has a '89 NC30 for years which i did over 160,000 Kms on, sold it and it got turned into a race bike.
Used to commute 90 miles/day on it.

My No1 30' (94') has done less than 3000 miles in 5 years, it lives in my house & doesn't get wet. When I brought it, it had 19,000 kms on it.
My No3 30' (91) had done 6000-ish miles in the last 3 years (only 35 miles by me though) & is now back in my possession, living indoors.
My No5 30' (90') has done ZERO miles in the last 15-ish years, has been in my possession for the last 2 years & stood for 13 or 14 years prior, in a garden! It also now lives indoors. It has 24,000-ish kms on the clock & has just 1 former UK keeper.

Not a 400 I know but I bought my Thundercat ex-demo in October '99 with 241 miles on the clock. When it got nicked in December '08 it had 78,731 milles on the clock. Just shy of 78.5k in 9 years and it wasn't my only set of two wheels, I had several other bikes in those years too.

Bought mine with 47000km on it in april last year, and it now has 66851km on. Would be around 6k miles higher if i hadnt bought my second bike at the start of may.
