NC29 clutch change- tips?

ok so i now have:
clutch basket:- reason i am changing all this..
friction plates
steel spacer plates
springs:- heavy duty which i did NOT want this time! but seems you have no choice in that!
clutch cover gasket
new clutch nut...
& manual!

borrowing a mates clutch Y tool.. home made & i bent it last time working on my van! so dubious it will be of use this time!

sooo any tips before i get this lot stripped?

Am also replacing my header gaskets while i am at it.. & oiling the choke cable.. so a few things which will take a day ... or rather i am taking my time, so allocating a day...

Good luck getting the center clutch nut off without either the right tool to hold the basket and a second person to undo the nut with a fuck off breaker bar or a compressor/electric impact driver.

2nd bod:-hmmm... Time to call in a favor or two

Assuming I also need a tourqe bar to do the clutch but up with?

I can check if the tool will work/fit as got the hybrids old seazed engine sat in the shed with no clutch cover on it....

We busted my clutch basket when trying with a homemade tool. Used a rattle gun to get it undone and done back up, easy peasey.

rattle gun = pneumatic thing.. which i do not even own.. nor does my mate.. so back to the breaker bar/clutch tool

You can hire one for not a lot of money but knowing you being the right arse that you are you will just wade on in lol

Not necessarily. You can buy battery operated rattle guns - greggo has one, works a treat. Good for getting the front sprocket off as well. Bit spenny, though...

never been a fan of them tbh.. i hate it when anyone uses one on my bike.. to the extreme that i actually ask them NOT to tighten certain nuts/bolts & that i will do it instead.
if i can do up a nut/bolt.. i can undo it. yes i do use torque settings/tools on integral stuff.. as i would on this "elusive" nut.. but i am confident a breaker bar, a 2nd pair of hands & clutch tool* will be fine.

Got mine off by sticking it in gear and holding the back brake on with grips. Came off easy with a long handled socket wrench
