Quick Review: EBC X discs - NC30
Hi all,
Just posting a quick review on the EBC X (6 pin -non-floating) discs. I've just started racing and needed some extra rims for wets so I put the OEM discs on the wet rims and bought some EBC X series for the dry set.

I got them from http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk (which had them a lot cheaper than others) and shipped them to Australia for less than they cost here in Oz .....
I left it late and the local Honda dealer has SBS pads - so, for better or worse, following the "replace the discs and pads at the same time" I did em both and EBC went with SBS. Funny that EBC says you void the warranty if you use non-EBC pads. Nice.
Anyways. Bl**dy fantastic. I don't know if my last discs were crummy or whatever, but they were OEM discs with carbone lorraine pads and these felt just a world above. I've never put a new set of dicsc on a bike on one day and then raced them the next so I have no yard-stick, but these were great. After doing my best to scrub them in during qualifying I was surprised a just how much better they were than the last setup.
And, sorry, I was a nong - the day-before-raceday was rushed. I forgot to do an A/B weight comparison.
Oh, and I think they look well-trick. :-)
end of review.

Nice one. I've been on the look out for new discs as well and you're right, we're getting majorly ripped off over here in Australia.
Just one question, are the EBC X discs fully floating? The reason I ask is because I'd prefer full floaters on the racebike but the website you bought yours from says you will be supplied with whatever comes from the OEM, so I'm assuming you don't have a choice??
Cheers,
Josh

Hi there Josh,
They do come in a full floating version. Actually, that was what I was expecting when I ordered. Only when they arrived (and were not FF) did I see the fine print. However, I figured it was too much hassle to return stuff to the UK etc etc and decided to live with them. I reckon I'm not that good of a racer to have it make the difference for now! (and I need to find ways to speed things up, not slow things down ... :-) )
