3TJ revving low

Hi guys,
My bike only revs to 11.5k then it has a massive drop in power, clocks are in Mph and when i first had it i got it to a shown 120mph, geared down now though so does 115 (private roads only ehem..)
I've heard its a 12.5k restriction normally...
Plus theres no significant power increase anywhere up the revs apart from after about 7k... could the exup be sticking? Suggestions?
Fzr400 3tj 1990 Believed to be a jap model, has the double rear light, 3tj on the cdi etc

It's a Japanese bike, or at least a Japanese CDI then it should have a KMH speedo, so I guess somebody has changed it. The problem is the CDI needs a signal from the Speedo at 0kmh (there's a sensor in the back of the speedo) if it doesn't get it it will restrict in all gears, which is what seems to be happening to your bike.
There's a cure - fit an M-Max derestrictor (there are other brands too) into the loom behind the clocks or a 4DX CDI.

They sound like 600 clocks - you can fit most Yam clocks if the shape is similar. To take them off it's easier to take off the headlight fairing (catch the headlight) and then you can see eveything. You might find some 400 clocks, 3en and 3TJ should be similar.
Red line is 14 on these although there isn't a lot more after 13.

This is what they're like - makes sense that they could be off a 600 now you mention that, speedo goes all the way to 155

If i put other 3tj clocks on (even the jap ones) would i get to 14k revs?

Not necacellery .... If you fit the jap clocks and reconnect the speed restrictor you should get full revs in 5 gears and be speed restricted to 180 KMH (120 MPH) in top. But that will mean you have KMH clock - which is a pain when all the speed limits are MPH, so you'll probably end up fitting a converter box, all in this will cost you more than the M-Max or 4DX CDI.

What you could do is ... buy Levo's clocks.
Put the m-max into your loom (you'll get the 14k revs)
Remove the speedo from your clocks and fit it into Levos clocks (so you get a 14k rev counter and an MPH speedo)
Fit it up, go for a ride and admire your handy work
