Can someone confirm if you need to use rvf cables when using rvf carbs on a nc30?

We're putting rvf carbs on my mates bike and it looks like we need longer cables.

I used the standard vfr 'pull' cable (top one) and it was fine. I don't use a return cable, not sure if the vfr one will fit the rvf carbs.
