I am in the market for some aftermarket rearsets for my 3TJ, but whle I could find loads on ebay a few months ago, now there is nothing!

Where have they all gone!!

Anyone know a good place to get (cheap) rearsets? I seem to remember that the cheaper ones were SES.

They were indeed racing products, but they have none listed. I have squirted them an email to see if they are still selling them.

Some on ebay at the mo, dave trollop is shifting them... £135.... or make an offer, rather expensive if you ask me

When I bought mine as a wreck it had a complete 'Coerce' rearset setup on the footbrake side and a std footpeg setup on the gearchange side.

I have found only 1 bloke selling Coerce stuff and he's stateside. He hasn't listed an FZR400 setup yet and hasn't responded to questions He has TZR250 ones and Honda ones listed. 325USD a set though

Personally I've not ground a peg on a bend so I'd assume that road riding is ok with standard pegs.

Which is why the UK manufacturing industry is in the state it's in.

It's not that expensive for something that is made in small batches and aimed at a very specific market, you (generally, not you specifically) couldn't make a pair manually for less (if you count your time at £10/hour).

I'm sure those rearsets have bearings in the levers as well.

It is expensive when they are the same rearsets as the Race Products ones, that were being knocked out for £99 plus post!

The standard pegs are fine for road use, but I've had rearsets on previous bikes and like the way that they feel.
Also the standard pegs that are on the bike at the moment are just the thing to fit to my XJ6 cafe racer project....

How much time do you think goes into making a set of rearsets? Its easy once you have got to just pushing a button on the cnc machine, but to get to that point you need to have spent a few hours designing them, a few more making jigs and fixtures, then you have to program them which all adds up. The company I work for charges £35 an hourm so you can see where the costs start to add up on a small batch run for a set of rearsets for a bike 20 years old that you may be lucky to sell 20 sets for. You would be looking at about 4 days work from start to finish to make 20 complete sets of rearsets and you then have material costs involved as well.
Just a rant as I know how much time goes into this stuff and people think all you have to do is load the machine and take them out once they are finished.

If you draw from scratch then yes, but who does that ?
You have your standard kit of parts (or at least you should have), foot pegs gear and brake levers. Then all you need is to know where the mounts are relative to the pegs ..... and stretch.
