Following up from another post in the vfr section.
I was wondering if anyone with a type 7 or 8, the R version, has noticed if their sticker under the passenger seat says cbr400RRR or says something similar to cbr400RRR-ll or cbr400-2.
Im just trying to find out what is different.
Thanks.
Dave.

How did you manage that?? I asked several times in the forum for type 7 fairings and tank but never a reply.. ever..
Did I call you marty? sorry Karl.
Ok its not so much the fairings. I need someone to confirm they have an RRR-II, what it is Im trying to find out what the difference is between an RRR and an RRR-II, I do know its the speedo but what that is, I have no idea. It may not be apparent just looking at it as I think its internal to the unit (maybe just a washer, screw, who knows for sure?) but I would like to know if anyone can confirm their type sticker under the seat says RRR-II, this was only on the type 7 and 8. So I ask again if you have a standard type 7 or 8 please check your type sticker under the passenger seat and let us know what it says.
cheers

This thread on the differences between rvf400rr I & II models might shed some light... or maybe not....!

As it happens this was a slight cross post from that very thread.. hoping to find out what the differences were for the 29 might of helped with the 35. As far as I can tell the only differences between the various 29 R I and II and 35 I and II models are the speedos. I agree that they were revisions but what revisions? no idea.
For me the complicated bike was the 35 as it appeared to use the same part number speedo revision on both types, why would that be, surely an updated bike would not go backwards with the earlier speedo then at a later date change to the later design that was on the earlier bike.. dunno
for instance, speedo 1, 37200-MR8-901 and part number revised speedo 2, 37200-MR8-911.
1993: NC35: RVF400R (R) -- speedo 1, 37200-MR8-901
1993: NC35: RVF400R (R-II) -- speedo 2, 37200-MR8-911
1994: NC35: RVF400R (T) -- speedo 1, 37200-MR8-901
1994: NC35: RVF400R (T-II) -- speedo 2, 37200-MR8-911
