GK76a Running rich

Alright guys/girls i've got an issue with the bike running rich, the symptoms are reasonably obvious
1) When i fire it up on choke and its still warming up when choke is off, it's like my old 2-stroke with all the bloody smoke
2) it's guzzled through a full bottle of Oil in under a month and as far as i can see theres no leak's in the gaskets or anything to suggest an oil leak
I'm not 100% sure how to change it so that it isn't running lean as it's that electronic carb majiggy and i can't see any jetting kit's available for it, so i'm guessing there has to be some way of sorting it out? help would be much appreciated!

It's not running rich.
If you've gone through that much oil, i'll bet it's fouling at least one of the plugs as well?
Take out your plugs and check them to find the problem cylinder, because you've either got a broken piston ring or a holed piston.

Ah balls, would that explain the jet black oil too then..?

Yes, especially if it smells of petrol too. That said, I think Petrol smelling oil is common, as it's thin enough to bypass the rings if stood.
Jet black oil means its picking up carbon from the combustion chambers, so most likely a broken piston ring.
As I said, start by pulling the plugs and see if any are oily.

Ideal bud, there is a strong scent of petrol whilst running, ill have to wait until the weekend as it use it everyday, is it going to be a major issue, i.e piston exploding in the barrel like my DRZ did haha! also if it is he piston ring's is there a supplier you know of that i can get them?

I'm afraid i've just divulged the sum total of my knowledge on this particular subject, i'm certainly no mechanic!
I've had piston rings break on my old Lambretta, and parts of them ended up in the crankcase (after scoring the barrel). I'm not sure how much damage it's likely to do to a GK76a, though you're probably looking at a rebore, or a hone at the very least, which is a barrel off job.
Maybe you should price up a replacement engine for spares.

Hmm, there was a full lump on a well known auction site lower mileage than my current for a reasonable £275 so that's certainly not out of the question! i'll have to wait and see what happen's! hopefully get my DRZ back soon if the worst does happen ill have a backup atleast!

Wee update, whacked it on the paddock last night to get it all straight and upright, checked oil level this morning and it's fine i guess when i first checked i hadn't let the oil cool down before measuring! i'm still yet to check the plug's but im a flid with mechanical stuff and have no idea how to get to them, i'm guessing i'll have to pop the tank up and there under there somewhere?
