Donnington GP (Noisy) 24th July
Or not so noisy for my NC21.
Have just booked this I'm really looking forward to it... and nervous
I cant make up my mind whether or not to do it on my vfr (nc21) or hire a bike... the price of hiring a bike (including insurance excess) is probably more than what my bike is worth! haha!
I've done 3 trackdays at Anglesey but never at Donny, do I just do it on my Nc21 and save my money for a new bike this winter.. or do I hire a bike and risk trashing it and having to pay.. I cant make decisions to save my life
Anyway... anyone else booked this yet?

I would use my own bike personaly. You may end up riding round like your on ice on a hire bike, terrifired to throw it down the road.

Yer being rich would be a real bonus
Also you could get taken out by someone and end up out of pocket too.
Best to concetrate on your riding and not the bike, and just enjoy the track.
Hope you have a goodun

I'll be there too..and it is not me that is special!!
Ref using your own bike vs hiring one - own bike pretty much everytime.
I'd only consider hiring a bike when I was very confident in my own skills (and I am - but I have not hired one yet)

What way does the hire bike thing work then? I got browned off catching the ferry over to England, huge expense to ride decent tracks, was actually cheaper to do trackdays in Spain believe it or not. There's still a few tracks I'd like to try over your way and for me hiring might be an option. Do you take out insurance or pay for what you bend???

JustMartyn, have a read of this, if you go on the no limits website they have a couple other firms that also hire bikes.
http://www.smallboytrackbikes.co.uk/dam ... ation.html
Ive never hired one myself so cant comment whether its a good idea and what they charge when they lob it but id imagine theyd do their best to keep hold of all of the £400 minimum crash damage deposit.
Gutted i cant make Donnington Pilky and there is going to be a couple of amazing sites there that you wont forget seeing. But with another op sheduled for the 11th July i doubt i'll be walking or even able to drive let alone ride, i'll give you a pm if i manage to get a lift down to have a watch.
Enjoy mate.

Re: Donnington GP (Noisy) 24th July
I think i will do the Classic bike one at donnington on sunday 3rd August. Last evening one i did at donnington was a bit mad as it was a general trackday in good weather. Thought the classic bike one might be a bit less frantic. Its a bit dearer but you would be ok on your own bike. There shouldnt be any track 600's there.
you will have a good time whatever you do, but dont wory too much about being on a 400 as you can get round pretty quick at donnington.

One of my mates use another forum and got me to sign and there are 12 of us going in total, will be good to be in a group although theres only 3 of us in the novice group lol. I shall be sporting my old school early 90's leathers and looking like a pillock (even more so than at Anglesey) but they match the bike and they are comfier haha!
Three trackdays 4+ years of riding in total and no Knee Down or confidence, I have had enough now I feel like its time to get my act together. No doubt I will probably end up in the gravel

Edit: By no confidence I meant not having the balls to give it some through corners...
