hi all i havnt posted for a bit got a few questions..

so here it goes
ive now decided to put the 24 back together and as i dont have everything left im gonna turn it into a track bike just as something to do i know it will prob not be anywhere near competitive but i have it doing nothing so

what other wheels will fit to give me a bit of a better tyre choice,
also can i fit a different exhaust system to it such as one from a 21 or a 30??
can i get different carbs to fit it or do i need standard 24 ones?
i think thats it for now i need to find a few parts but will post in the proper section when i get started

Whats wrong with the NC24 carbs or the exhaust system? Are you trying to improve or don't have?

The NC21 system is very similar to the NC24 exhaust except the exit pipe is low-level and the baffling in the can is different.

The NC30 system won't fit and isn't designed properly for the engine.

Wheels and tyres are not easy / cheap or simple but there are some things you can do depending on budget.

I'd sort the pogo stick suspension out first.. with some pirelli sport demons (you can get in stock size) the suspension will be letting you down long time before the tyres.

Make what you have got work. Then see what needs to be done to make it better.

yer i no longer have the carbs carb tray or the exhaust as i had broken the bike and tried to sell the parts but nobody wanted them. yer the pogos are a concern of mine so need to sort that out there is a showa rear on ebay for a decent price but what can be done about the front?? im trying to do this on a shoe string but wanted to try it as a track bike cause the specs ive seen havnt been much different from a 30 apart from about 30kgs extra over it
so effectivly i want 24 parts to put back together but i can get 21 parts to fit?

There miles different even if the overall power is the same, the frame / brakes and suspension on the 30 make it miles better for track use, gearbox and gearing too is strange.

Not that the 24 is a bad bike but if your wanting something for track use and you have to spend plenty on restoring a 24 then a cheap all together 30 might be a better option, but you said there isn't much budget.

Not to sound negative but I dont' think you'll be able to do it on a shoe-string though, costs can soon shoot up, keep that in mind.

All NC21 parts will fit, but the exhast will require the rear foot-rests from the NC21 too.

I'd get it back to stock and track it and see how you find it before upgrading.

ahhh ok im just doing it cause it is there at to give me something to do lol i know it isnt going to be anywhere near a 30 just might be a fun/interesting exercise. ok ill put it to standard then take it out and see how it is.
cool that makes it slightly easier as there seems to be more 21 bits around

Just buy replacement carbs and exhaust from ebay to get it back to standard spec.

Use it for track days and enjoy it knowing if you trash it it wont have cost very much

I was going to buy back my old nc24 to use as a track toy, just for experience more than anything else, as its not that fast.
You wont keep up on the streights but there is a good chance you will keep good pace round the bends
