Hi all just joined and recently brought gsxr 400 as my 1st bike . Firstly im an a somewhat compitant mechanic (used to work in car repair trade) And my first bike is also a little project that im working to get ready and on the road.

Right this is my problem i brought the bike in poor cosmetic condition and were a Cat C write off in 1998. some has put this back on the road and has been MOT'd since etc. But since i came accross the bike it seems to be missing a few parts - Expansion tank (coolent) , Rad Mounting bracket and NO fans.
So my questions are:

1) Where does the coolent tank mount/how many hoses attach to it

2)How many Brackets are needed to mount the Rad correctly and the Fans

But main question is :
3) Where is the electrical connectors to connect the fans up? i can not see any wires or connectors that isnt already connected up. + Can some one Tell me the colours of the wires for connecting the fan up.
(I would prefer NOT to wire up a manual switch if i can help)

Any help would be fantastic.

And the coolent tank - the plastic one. Some where near the rear fairing / pillion seat. Ive got x2 small hoses one goes from the rear to the underside of the bike and another that goes to the coolent tank/part under petrol tank

Hi yes coolant expansion tank fits on rear left sde of subframe one pipe (lower ) goes to top of filler cap under fuel tank .top pipe just comes off of tank to act as overflow route through rear undertray

That is correct, BBR = Black/Brown, BW = Black/White I think.

Yea are for the colours problem i had were parts were missing but when checking over the bike replacing missing parts i noticed the rad that the previous owen had fitted were for a GK71 modle not the gk76 no wounder nothing were fitting right. And wires wernt matching up

I have a rad with fans & maybe even the coolent bottle if you want them £10 + p+p.
Also have a box of other odds & sods body panels etc for the GK76A.

Thanks for the offer but when i realised that it had 71 rad on i brought a replacement same day. Been over the bike and checked everything seems to be complete now . Just need to get the carbs functioning correctly
