Hi guys this is my 2nd post sorry if its a frequently asked question

The vfr nc30 late 1992 that ive just bought , shes been unused for a year , she starts well and runs ok ( going to clean the carbs tommorow ) but the gear change feels very stiff to me and is a bit hard to find neautral , is there a nack for getting it in neautral ? or is there a possible issue ?

Ive also done a full oil and filter change today.

Any info would rock :D

Ahh ok cool cheers. I paniced because when i removed the fairing to do the oil change there was no grease / lubericant on or around the gear leaver / pushrod or were it goes into the gearbox , shes all lubed up now tho !

Thanks

They love a bit of lube  but as Deviant said, just a little blip of the throttle and that lil green light will appear as though by magic lol!! It's a knack....... 8-)

I find mine goes into netrul quite easyily, if not just accelerate forward in 1st like 2 iches and it will go straight in

Thank-you for the tip , there is definetly a nack tho. On a second point what roughly is the top end for the nc30?

aye sorry didnt make that clear

This is my first vfr , shes been sat for a year and is still running a bit lumpy at the moement but a couple of long rides today has helped no end. itl need some more tlc in the next few weeks , So far ive changed , Oil , oilfilter , cleaned the carbs ( got out nasty mouldy petrol) running a bit of redex through it as well. And next weekend i hope to do airfilter and new plugs. Is there anything else you recomend i do ?

think you will have covered the basics doing that , oil/oil filter, air filter , plugs , carb clean re-set then onto drive, so chain/sprockets, then shocks 20year old bike so there tired by now , rick oliver spring kit for the front forks (best £80 you could spend on the bike) then get a rear shock , either refurb the original or swap out for a pricey one what ever floats your boat , that would be my way of doing things , then look at pipes bodywork etc till your happy , haha its a never ending story really depends how far your prepared to go
