Jets

Post by g1b50n »

My NC30 is currently running a full scorpion exhaust system with a stubby viper race can. The scorpion can was looking a bit naff when i bought the bike so replaced it. I seem to be having a slight flatspot during acceleration so im guessing the bike isnt jetted to suit the system. Im planning on stripping down the carbs this winter and rejetting them and cleaning them, what i need to know is what jets i should run with that exhaust? And where i should source all my parts like gaskets, jets and needle washers?? Thanks for help in advance.

Read cammo's carb guide!

118/120 or 115/118 will be fine.

The flat spot is usually around 7000rpm and this is the needle to main jet transition phase, can be made better by putting an extra 0.5mm shim under the needles.

Rick-O sells all the parts

Couple of things - Scorpion system - you sure? Pics please, not sure it is...

Stubby cans..well, they are teh ghey but should not affect the fuelling too much.

As our resident Neosophist has already said, read the Carb guide...get it sorted!

Yeah definetly a full scorpion system, no joins in the system straight through and just a join for the endcan, the endcan was a full length scorpion can to which no flat spot existed but one i fitted my stubby can i seem to have a slight flat spot in the lower rev scale from setting off? Is this common? Yeh i was planning on putting the extra 0.5mm on the needle, and rejetting to suit. Could someone please verify outta the two jetting options ive been given above which wouldbe the best?
