Hi everyone, my nc30 has a full scorpion exhaust system on it, the endacan was looking a lil tatty so ive fitted a viper slip on can. The issue im having is the endcan joint wont seal properly. The can came with a new clamp which i fully tightened so the can is secure, now there was no seal in the endcan i took off or any seal with the new can. Is there ment to be one? I did use a little exhaust paste which sealed it but not for long. Would there even be room for a seal ring on that end joint? Please help people. Thankyou in advance

On my NC23 I clamped up the slip on as tight as i could but it always leaked. I took it off, slapped some silicon sealant on it and reclamped it. Doesnt leak now. (a quick google mentioned silicone sealant - so i tried it)

Exhaust paste become brittle and just cracks. I used normal old clear sealant from toolstation.

Yeah ive tried tightening it as tight as i can but still it leaked lol, ill try the silicone when i next take it off and let you know how i get on, thankyou mate

I didnt, but you should use a high temperature silicone if you can find it as thats what is normally recommended.

i think the normal stuff is high temp anyway but i might be wrong.

Ive ordered some high temperature clear silicone to try out mate. think it should work lol

Alright, ive just got back off holiday today lol, my silicone seal is here ready to go, i intend to take my bike down to work on saturday and ill let you know mate...

Hi there, if not...maybe try some sticky gun gum paste, can be had from general part shops like Halfrauds etc.
If you tried it already, maybe get some gasket paper and cut one yourself using the endcan as master....use few layers to get the needed thickness to clear the gap.

Thats a good idea with the gasket paper, we have a load of that, some of that teamed with the silicone seal should stop the problem all together lol, i hope

seeing as theres already a post about this i didnt want to make a new thread, but i have a similar problem...

went for a ride today and took a nice left bend at a nice speed... as i accelerated out of the turn i have no idea how this happened but my exhaust slip on can slid off

pulled up the bike, ran back to collect the can
i had a 'ART' can, i am unsure of the rest of the piping
it had two exhaust straps going around the can which where connected together and bolted onto the exhaust hanger
it seems that one strap must have broken off because i couldnt find any remains of it
and the second one followed soon after

so i have temporarily just slipped the can back on and tightened the f*** out of the clamp
but the whole exhaust system is very wobbly now and theres a leak where the slip on joins

could anyone advise whether it would be clever to have the slip on welded to eliminate the leak, and if again i can run it without a strap to hold the exhaust can in position?
