mine always had a flatspot at low revs but i think these older bikes have this issue due to warn carbs, if its jetted correctly for the pipe that would help it however it could also be a spark plug issue!

When was the last time the carbs had a through clean and balance?

Many people mix up the jets and needles between carbs so it wont' run right.

I'd start by removing the carbs, full clean and overhaul (factory settings will be fine) pilot screws 2 turns out. 6.8mm floats.

Make sure the intake rubbers are good, if they don't seal and leak air then they'll cause a world of grief (in which case bin them and replace with new)

While they are off check and adjust valve clearnances too.

Reassemble and balance the carbs and should run sweet.

where is a good place to purchase inlet rubbers and components for the carbs should I need anything..is it likely that the diaphrams maybe in poor condition aswel?

Rick O / David Silvers.

Diaphrams are usually good.

NC30 inlet rubbers are the same.

Get the float bowls off.

The emulsion tubes with 5 holes go in the rear carbs.

Should be 115 jets all around.

Check the needles too.
