Unbolt it from the engine block - you'll probably break the gasket but they're not expensive.

Sorry, what i mean is do i have to lock the tensioner or remove the springs and any guides and do i have to reset the tensioner ratchet on reassembly

Ah.
OK
Take the guide off the top of cam chain.
Unbolt one of the bolts from the cam gear coggy thing
Turn the engine
Ziptie the chain to the cam gear coggy thing
Undo the cam journals
unbolt the second bolt from the cam gear coggy thing
jiggle the cam free
or something like that

Which tyres ???
Check the pressures
If you don't feel like the bike has the same amount of grip - slow down. Sounds obvious but it could save you from coming off. Most tyres will work through all conditions and work a lot better than you'd think but if you don't feel confident just back off a bit.
It's always an idea to to have suspension looked at, it should be supple rather than hard.
