Sprocket / gearing and more - NC24

After months of snow and sub zero weather in Norway it's time to take my VFR400 nc24 bakt to track

I am considering a front sprocket of 14 teeth (OEM is 15), as I never seem to spend much time in the highest gear (almost not at all...). The scandinavian tracks are generally short with a lot of corners and short straights. Is this a good idea?

I have ordered in parts to clean and rebuild the front calipers, the rear shock is sendt away for refurbishing and forks are getting fresh seals and oil. I am also thinking about fitting a RS250 race tail (eighties style...) to get a cleaner look and spare some weight. Any other suggestions for a tail that will fit with some adjustments and keep the eighties style is appriciated. Some chopping of the rear subframe is OK.

The bike is on the original wheels (rims), this year I will run a Dunlop GP 900 TT (ordered from Japan) up front and a Avon classic racing tire (AM23 / soft) at the back, recommended by fellow classic racers, still to be tested...

Season starting of with two days of CSS training in Denmark in the start of May, can't wait to get going again!
