3EN1 Rear Shock Options

Hi,
My shock is starting to weep oil so I need to look at getting a replacement. I've read that the r6 mod won't work without swapping out the braced swingarm. I can try to get a better original part or have mine reconditioned.
Are there any other shocks that can be used that are pretty much bolt in? I don't mind fiddling with spacers and dogbones but I don't want to be grinding the frame and swapping swingarms to make something fit.
Cheers

i thought the r6 would fit without the lengthening adapters with just a shaving off the corner of the shock to clear? i've got a working 3en1 shock that came from a running bike if you need one for the mean time, going cheap!
pm if you want it!

The shock "should" be the same as the FZR600 3HE ... if you want to go to the R6 shock I'd suggest you fit a different arm but if you do that then you'd really question whether you want a 17" wheel so it's a bit of can of worms.

Hi Evil,
I've got a 600 that is having a major rebuild so I'm trying to focus on that. Time and money is a factor and I'm trying to keep the 400 as my daily ride (only spending on maintenance to keep it safe/reliable). Like you say it's a can of worms sometimes and I don't want to be tempted spending money on the 400 right now unless I really have to.

I've been looking into this myself. The options for a straight (possible dog bone change required for ride height) swap are:
2006-08 R6
K1-K4 GSXR 750/1000
CBR600 RR3
ZX6R B & P models.

Well I've gone for Taggy's old shock for now, thanks for sorting that out. If there is a confirmed option for a shock with more adjustment I'd certainly consider it for a future mod.
Thanks all for the help.

I've got a ZX6R P8 shock in the post so I'll let you know the crack when it turns up
