Hi guys, found that on "the bay with that e" does anybody has it installed on his V4? Or
any thoughts of improvment on the bike. I´m at the point on my bike rebuild where I could build in the old very good conditoned bearings or go for something like that if its worth it.
I don´t own myself an V4 but in the NC29 section there is nobody which has made an experience with that bearings but maybe the V4 guys here have knowledge about!

I should think they are ok, just do not buy from pyramid parts. I got a headrace bearing and the quality was 10%, not the japanese quality advertised

Hah! BJ Bikes, small bike shop close to my home-town.. very good service in there and they sell decent stuff.

Koyo bearings should be of a good standard.

The standard (unless they've been swapped out) are just a standard caged ball race I believe, is this what you have now?

Provided the bearings are clean and everything is adjusted properly there isn't a lot in it.

There is less surface area in contact on the caged ball race so it should turn with ever so slightly less drag.

The taper rollers should wear more evenly and a big shock to the front end is less likely to put a dent in the bearing cup due to the long contact patch.

Some people seem to swear by them but i've never really noticed any difference with a good set of each.. sometimes after-market tapers are cheaper also.

If your originals are in good condition and setup properly you probably won't notice but you can always try some rollers and swap back if you don't like.
