What do you mean when you say derestriction? do you mean the speed restriction at 180KPH?

Its a DIY.
Find the green/yellow wire that goes from the gear sensor (near the front sprocket) up to the cdi.
Under the seat it has a bullet connector.
Disconnect this, leave the gear sensor side loose.
Connect a 1k ohm or 1.5k ohm resistor to the cdi side end and then connect the other side of the resistor to earth on the frame.
You have no restriction at 180kph.

Does this affect the retard/advance at high revs for the SP models though?

Im unsure but thats all the Mmax boxes do.
If you take ohm readings for each gear you could run any of the resistances from the lower gears tho i dont think the cdi's are that clever, you dont get multi curves!
Only way to test would be dyno each resistance and see if any change in power.
