Can any one recommend a powder company that have used??

I am looking at getting my wheels done as that are letting the look on my CBR down.

I can recommend one not to use and that's Triple S Four times I've used them and they've always fucked it up

Last time took the smeg.

I took in a GPX750 frame. Asked, AND PAID £60 EXTRA, for Cadbury's Purple. Picked it up THREE weeks later, got it home and unwrapped it. Guess what? Fucking burgundy. On top of that the subframe is pitted all over and they even managed to twist the bloody thing somehow

I complained and Andy didn't want to know


Oh and another thing about Triple S, they only accept cash as payment. Says a lot about a company doesn't it?

I live up north so cant help with location.

I paid around £65 for them to remove the paint and fully powder coat mine in glossy black.

I also had the fairing brace done ( hence the £5 ), I had painted it myself with hammerite and it was shite ( the can of hammerite was £10 , why did I bother )

Dont forget you will need to remove the bearings, I destroyed mine taking them out so take that into account. The front ones were ROUGH according to the MOT guy so needed changing anyway.

Also factor in the tyre removal/refit/balance/new valve.

Got talking to the owner and guess where all the local bike shops go - and they charge their customers nearly £100 per wheel!

Was referred there - not had work done by them but have seen their work (good) and been to their workshop for pricing etc. I have a wheel to be done and I will be going to them when the time comes.

I have been helped by the information found on this site on many occasions as the search facility has always found the answers to the questions I’ve had. That is apart from MY decision to follow the advice on finding a powder coating firm to recoat my two bikes. I live in Nottingham so quite far from all mentioned. I took my VFR400 to Maldon Powder coating and all I can say is “what a waste of time and money”. The whole job was rubbish, bare patches, bits in the paint and paint on threads. It took me a good couple of nights touching up and tapping out threads just to get it ready for building.

Before Christmas one of my friends had his old XT500 frame and parts powder coated at Triple S Powder coating. I was amazed at the difference between the two jobs. The finish on his XT was just fantastic with no bare patches in the corners and all threads masked.

I was that impressed that, a week ago I took my next project, my old Z1A frame and parts to Triple S. I have just got back from collecting them and again another absolutely cracking job. And looking at the shelves behind his counter, that were full of other peoples bikes, it is his normal standard of work, outstanding.

I suppose you pays your money and take your chance but I believe in credit where credit is due and I won’t be going anywhere else for any other work I need doing.
