A race or doctored ECU can take away the speed restriction but it also takes f the reserve (you won't need it for track anyway) and posibly the rev limiter. It shouldn't be a problem for a race loom

it depends on the doctoring to be honest. i had on that removed the restriction, but the exup servo still had to be connevted to rev freely.

De restricting the cdi does remove the fuel reserve and speed restriction. The exup can be still conneted but dosent need to be and the rev limit is taken to 15400rpm.
PM me if you want your cdi modified to a race spec cdi.

Just to be pedantic, as is my want, with race bikes and my own, I used to use aircraft wire and circuit breakers and all sorts of bits. This was sourced as cast offs from military aircraft. They replace the looms as a procedure and my friend would get the wire for me. This is silver coated and similar to 'Spec 55' see
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/wiring_ecu.html. The wiring harness is reduced to a tiny thing that weighs very little. If you sniff around you should be able to source similar wire from used BA Tornadoes or some such. Note that all of this wire is usually the same colour. It just has a number on the insulation to identify it.
I enjoy making looms. A sign of something wrong I think.
