X-rings are better by far. They produce less friction and are sealed better to keep lube in and dirt out. What you get depends on your budget though. I use RK gold X-rings - no complaints.

Not everybody likes the Renthal aluminium sprockets, even though they are hard anodized. Aluminium is much softer than steel so will wear more quickly. The anodizing just adds a thin protective layer to the alu which over time will wear off. For normal use I'd go for a steel rear sprocket. Front sprockets are made of much harder steel normally.
For a discussion about O-ring and X-ring chains, see this link:

525 X ring
Worth asking for a 14 front too rather than a standard 15.
you may lose 2 or 3mph top end but will improve real world accelleration
Avoid Renthal unless you want light weight ally that needs replacing quickly

IMHO convert to a 520 chain while you're at it, the previous owner of my bike did that in addition to dropping a tooth on the front sprocket. Today's 520 chains can take even more than what our bikes can dish out.
With the new gearing acceleration is great, it's nice to have all the torque you need at 5k in any gear. Only real downside is you're revving a little higher at freeway speeds, but it's not bad.

Hi mate. I'm up for a 520 conversion for my NC29 but can't find sprockets in 520 pitch for the NC29. Where do you get yours?

There's a couple of places in Aus that stock them.
http://www.rbimports.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is probably a good place to start. Fast shipping too.
