Hi guys,
After finding this website almost a year ago I've been looking for a nice standard NC30, preferably in standard colours near where I live. After receiving much valuable advice, and nearly paying way too much for a NC35 recently (thinking I was never going to find what I wanted), Im pleased to say Im collecting my NC30 this afternoon!

The bike in question turned out to be less than a mile from where I live, its in very good condition and it was a little expensive but worth it to me for the close location, condition, and extras (manual, paddock stand and loads of history).

So let hope it stays dry and I can find space in the shed when I get home....can't wait!

what a feeling that is picking up your new bike! you wont be disapointed with a nc30, ive had mine 6 years and still love it, over the next few months you may find yourself looking for any excuse to get out to the shed to look at it and ride it, enjoy it!

Had mine 6 months now and love it! You'll be addicted shortly then. I find myself going into the garage just to look at it between rides.

Just noticed you're in Lincolnshire matey, I'm just over the river in East Yorkshire. If ever you do a track day at Cadwell and fancy meeting up give me a shout. I've booked onto the road bike only day with Bike magazine on 17th April along with a mate on his NC35 (Mines an NC30). Not sure if its your bag but if so its always nice to meet up with friendly faces.

i remember picking up my nc30 and riding it away , the first few corners i just burst out laughing under me crash helmet thinking holy shit this is fantastic , a few years later its still having the same effect,

my first NC30 was in 1998 i think and i too remember riding away thinking this was superb. i actually went to buy a TZR250 3XV and ended up paying more for the NC30 and so glad i did.
had 3 x 3vx's after and each shat themselves with little effort.

I met a stranger outside my local bike shop with a brand new UK NC30 in 1990 and he let me ride it, I could not believe how good it was.

I was looking for a newer bike in 1991 and was tempted to buy a Jap NC30 import, mint ones were £ 3000, but a new RC30 came up so I bought that.

I did buy an NC30 in 2000, I was then riding a kitted RC30, but it felt a bit too fierce for me on the road.
Trouble was, the NC also invited quick riding, so I sold it and bought a standard RC30 that I found more relaxing and safe.
I did buy another Jap NC a few years ago, then a UK one [plus an NC35] and can find no riding fault with any of them. The build and finish quality is good, but the NC35 engine should be painted as the 30 is.

They do benefit from setting the carbs up, even better on a dyno, the mid range can be improved quite a bit, but they are a joy to ride, I will be out on the road shortly if this weather keeps up.

Well it all went good, the transaction was painless (well as painless as handing over £1800 can ever be!), ive not ridden it far (had a long day and need medication tonight) but it felt good. It felt a little 'small' after my last bike (749) but surprisingly 'together' for a 17 odd year old bike. I pratted around trying to get it into the shed but he final turn into our patio area is around 2 inches too narrow (bugger!) so for the time being its at the side of the house behind a very solid and tall gate. It can't be seen (tall fence and house each side) so it should be ok. I've got a heavy duty cover for it. It's not an ideal situation, the missus has offered to try lifting the rear around a foot, it would go through the gap then.....bloody new houses aren't built for easy access.
Anyhow, the bike itself looks nice, it's on an 'M' plate (yeah I know probably not 'true' age) and R/W/B.
It's got Dunlop GPR70 (?) tyres fitted although I loved the Bridgestone BT090's I had fitted to my FZR400RR so may change for them soon.
If the weathers ok tomorrow I'll check tyre pressures and do a bit of oiling along with close inspection.
Insurance was £58 so that's a bargain!
Other that the shed issue (you can't have everything) I just need to get some miles under my belt.
Paul (Quality) it would be good to meet up with other owners (health allowing) I'm not fit enough for a track day but I live right on the Trent River so if I'm well enough when you have your track day I'll come along and find you for a natter.

I rate gpr70 tyres mate, not quite as sticky as bt090's but good.
