Re: dash bulbs?
On the nc29 t5 is the right size, mine look like the ones in your second picture, maybe a bit thinner. I bought a few 2.3w for the speedo and rev counter and they seem fine.

Re: dash bulbs?
I have read that any bulb above 1.7w can bleach out the plastic face of the clocks. I used the standard 1.2w.
I also looked at LEDs but they dont illimunate the whole dash.
Mine are dull so would like to fit brighter bulbs, but dont want to risk it.

Simple answer, fit LED bulbs instead and you don't get the heat build up of filament bulbs.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
